This Privacy Policy explains how your personal data is collected, processed, and protected when you use the mobile application Regu (the “App”). The App is provided by Regu (the “Data Controller”).
By using the App, you agree to the data processing activities described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Personal Data We Collect
The following personal data may be collected from you within the scope of the App:
- Identity and contact information:
- Your name
- Your surname (if provided)
- Your email address
- Information required for astrological calculations:
- Your date of birth (day, month, year)
- Your place of birth (city/country)
- Your time of birth (hour and minute)
- Usage and technical data:
- In-app usage data (which screens you visit, how often you use specific features, etc.)
- Basic technical information such as device type, operating system version
(These data are generally collected in an anonymized or pseudonymized manner via third-party services such as Firebase.)
You are not always required to fill in all fields; some data is necessary for us to provide specific features of the App.
2. For What Purposes Do We Process Your Personal Data?
Your personal data is processed for the following purposes:
- Account creation and management:
- Enabling your registration to the App and creation of your profile
- Verifying your identity and enabling access to your account
- Astrological calculations and personalized content:
- Creating astrological charts and analyses based on your birth information (date, place, time)
- Providing personalized content, interpretations, and recommendations based on these analyses
- App development and analytics:
- Analyzing how often features are used
- Bug detection, performance improvement, and development of new features
- Improving user experience
- Fulfillment of legal obligations and dispute resolution:
- Keeping records required to be stored by relevant legislation
- Protecting our rights in possible disputes
3. On What Legal Grounds Do We Process Personal Data?
We may process your personal data based on the following legal grounds, depending on the nature and purpose of the relevant personal data:
- Necessity for the establishment and performance of a contract: Data required for you to use the App, create your account, and have the service provided to you
- Your explicit consent: Use of your date of birth, place of birth, and time of birth for astrological calculations. These data are processed based on your explicit consent via the information and approval step presented to you when registering for the App or at first login.
- Legitimate interest: Development of the App, ensuring its security, and fixing bugs; Statistical analyses and anonymized reports
- Fulfillment of legal obligations: Records required to be stored or shared by relevant legislation
4. Where and How Is Your Personal Data Stored?
- Your personal data is primarily stored on Firebase and similar cloud services.
- In this context, your data may be kept on servers located abroad.
- Data is, as much as possible:
- Transmitted over secure connections,
- Protected by technical and administrative measures against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
5. Sharing Your Personal Data with Third Parties
Currently, your personal data is not shared with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
However, there are some third-party service providers we use for the operation of the App:
- Infrastructure and analytics providers: For example: Firebase (authentication, database, analytics, crash reporting, etc.), OneSignal (push notifications)
These service providers:
- Can access your personal data only to the extent necessary to operate and develop the App.
- Are subject to their own privacy policies and contracts.
- Efforts are made to take necessary contractual and technical measures to prevent them from using data for unauthorized purposes.
In accordance with legal requirements, your personal data may exceptionally be shared with authorized public institutions and organizations or judicial authorities.
6. Data Retention Period
Your personal data is stored for the periods specified below:
- As long as your account is open: Your identity, contact, and astrological calculation data are stored as long as your account is active.
- When your account is deleted: When you delete your account from within the app, your data is removed from systems within a reasonable time in line with technical and legal requirements. This reasonable time is limited to periods required for backup processes, security, and possible disputes.
At the end of these periods, your data is deleted or anonymized.
7. Your Rights as a User
Within the scope of relevant legislation (especially KVKK and GDPR where applicable), regarding your personal data:
- Deleting your account: You can delete your account from within the App. When your account is deleted, your personal data is removed from systems within a reasonable time.
- Updating/correcting some of your information: You can update your birth information and specific profile fields via relevant areas within the App.
You can exercise your rights via account management and data update/delete features provided within the App. For requests you cannot fulfill within the App, you may contact us via the email address provided in Section 11.
8. Children's Data
The App is generally designed for adult users and does not intend to knowingly collect personal data from children (e.g., under 13).
If you are under the minimum age limit applicable in your country, you must use the App only under the permission and supervision of your parent or legal guardian.
If you think any data belonging to a child is being processed unauthorizedly, please stop using the App and (if an email channel is added in the future) contact us; relevant data will be deleted within a reasonable time.
9. Security
Reasonable technical and administrative security measures are taken to protect your personal data.
However, it is not possible to guarantee that any data transmission over the internet or storage method is completely secure. We assume you know and accept this risk when using the App.
10. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time.
- If significant changes are made, a notification may be shown to you within the App or the “Effective Date” at the top of the policy text may be updated.
- Continuing to use the App means you accept the updated policy.
